From the earliest known civilizations in our knowledge, the process of exchange of information has existed. Approximately 5000 years ago writing was invented and it opened the door for education to be dispersed, as we know it today.
A lot has changed since then in terms of how education transferred, methods that are implemented and the number of institutions from where it can be gained.
After the advent of technology at such a swift pace, the changes in the education system have only accelerated further with a better and more orchestrated system.
But in the coming years, the face of education will see a complete changeover that will, in the long run, be beneficial for the coming generations, here are a few aspects that will progressively alter in a decade;
THE MEDIUM OF EDUCATION: The medium of education in schools today is language and quality is given utmost importance, but in the forthcoming years, this will change. The medium for education will shift from language to IT.
With this shift, the focus will also shift from quality to correct use of IT and using computers to do the writing. Of course, the language will not lose its essence complete, it still would play an important role, but the version will compact and the world would talk in more crisp and to the point sentences.
Computers and technology will transform drastically and will completely transform in a few years. Each subject that the schools have listed will be taught through computer applications and a tech version of it would be introduced and training would be provided to get used to using these applications for their best use.
NO MORE CLASSES: We all have a different pace of learning and progressing, and keeping that in mind eventually, the concept of classroom learning will go out of the window.
More stress would be concentrated on active learning, group activities, assignments, creative learning and more, it has been long understood that kids have a better grasp of knowledge when they are enjoying and are physically involved in learning something.
Making groups and kids studying together will have nothing to do with what age they are but more with what interests them and capable they are at it.
The industry experts in time have realized that this segregation puts unnecessary stress on the kids and each one has their own set of abilities waiting to be explored and put to use.
FOCUS ON THE STUDENTS: The focus will be more on the students rather than chronologically teachers coming one after another to give lectures, the concept of teaching and learning will see a drastic change.
The students will get to asses, scrutinize, find solutions, understand applications, and do more activities that will actively involve them and help them retain information more efficiently.
NOT JUST EXAMS: The idea of giving exams will become pretty outdated and the focus will shift on making presentations, demonstrating abilities at best, applying concepts learned through mingling activities, accomplishing assignments, bringing in creative and innovative ideas and a lot more trends of this nature.
TEACHERS: A teacher will not just stick to mugging up one subject but will have to add more skills to their resume. They will have to learn the ways of technical education, learn new things, apply technological knowledge and more.
The age-old classroom teaching won't help in the times coming ahead. There will be training sessions held for teachers as well to keep up with the new changes happening in their field and will be updated on everything new.
SMARTPHONES: With the advent of ultra-modern applications and Smartphones getting smarter every day, by the coming 2 or 3 years, students will be in full capacity to learn languages through these tech-savvy applications around the world.
They will be able to check their vocational skills by recording and sending in voice notes to make corrections in their accents, intonations, and pronunciations.
REACHING TO THE MASSES: With the internet reaching the remote areas and the best quality of education adding to the picture, it will become accessible to more people.
There will be students across the world, which would be able to extract easy and accessible knowledge economically. There would be a plethora of options available online like assignments, classes, tutorials and more.
The future seems bright for the educational sector and for the students who will get to witness this positive transformation. The learning outcomes will improve, the role of government will amplify, e-learning ways will take over and a lot more will be inferred in a conducive environment.
