NU to Conduct Seminar for Engineering Aspirants in Hyderabad on May 6, 2017

Established with a vision to bring about innovation in higher education and learning in emerging areas of the knowledge society, the not-for-profit NIIT University (NU) will conduct career counseling session for engineering aspirants on Saturday May 6, 2017, from 9:30 am onwards at White House, Door No 11-15-12/A, Doctors' Colony, Opposite NTR Nagar, LB Nagar, Hyderabad. The Session will be addressed by Mr. BVR Mohan Reddy, Former Chairman Nasscom, Founder and Executive Chairman at Cyient and Board Member NU; Mr. Rajendra S Pawar, Founder NU and Chairman, NIIT Ltd.; and Prof VS Rao, President NU, former acting Vice Chancellor of BITS Pilani (overseeing the campuses in Pilani, Hyderabad, Goa and Dubai), who has been playing a key role in institution building.

NU is an embodiment of the university's vision to create holistic leaders, who can contribute meaningfully towards building a better tomorrow. During the seminar students will be told about different fields of engineering, helping them choose the right field based on their interest and aptitude, and will be enlightened on the plethora of career opportunities available to engineering graduates. While Mr. BVR Mohan Reddy will talk about Industry 4.0 – the fourth industrial revolution, Mr. Pawar will highlight the careers of future and the engineering streams aligned to the future industry requirements, Prof Rao will talk about the universities of the future. The career related questions and concerns of the aspiring engineers and their parents will also be addressed during the Q & A session. There will be a Principals meet as well in the evening.

The career counseling will help students understand various skills required for a successful career in engineering and various job opportunities available post completion of the engineering course. Students who have recently appeared for Class XII board exams can attend the session.

Speaking on the Industry of the future Mr. BVR Mohan Reddy, Former Chairman Nasscom, Founder and Executive Chairman at Cyient and Board Member NU said, "Latest technologies like Internet of Things, Big Data, cloud, and software defined world, will bring disruptions and will change the way we live & work. Admissions to the B.Tech programmes at NU are based on Class X and XII marks and Personal Counselling Interaction (PCI). Scholarships for B.Tech are offered to encourage and support meritorious candidates, under the 'NU Scholar Search Programme'. NU offers scholarship benefits up to 100% on University Fee. For the batch 2017-21, the last date for application is 30th June 2017.
