KoheliPuri's inspirational interview with TCM: "Failures are the best teachers in our lives" says Koheli.

Women across the world are changing the world that we are "given" for a world that we dream of. They are creating the opportunity for themselves, and for other women and girls, to break through preconceived notions of gender and walk hand in hand with men towards a more wholesome existence.

Earlier, women preferred to enter the business domain in the late 40s because of their thrust to gain success in their previous career life. But now, the scenario has changed significantly in the past few decades, with the increasing number of women more likely to enter into the early stage entrepreneurship.

Experts say that earlier 40 to 50 per cent of all the small businesses are run by women in all the developing countries. The ideology of Separate Spheres rested on a definition of the 'natural' characteristics of women and men.

Women were considered physically weaker yet morally superior to men, who meant that they were best, suited to the domestic sphere. Not only was it their job to counterbalance the moral taint of the public sphere in which their husbands labored all day, they were also preparing the next generation to carry on this way of life.

The fact that women had such great influence at home was used as an argument against giving them the vote. But the time has seen a massive change in the last few decades and women now drive the world economy.

The CEO Magazine Interviews Mrs. KoheliPuri

TCM:What was your dream as a business lady?

Koheli:As business personnel I am sure everyone would look for growth & reputation of the company.

Apart from that I actually dream to create a very niche sector for myself in terms that the spaces created under the brand name of StudioXP – is a space not only created to fulfill its functionality and creative identity but a space where people would love to come back again and again.

I also look forward for a right process driven ethical environment where we all as team StudioXP rightly contribute to create precision. Last but not the least my team is who fulfills my dream so I want them to have the right environment and facilities to perform at their best.

TCM: What is your greatest professional accomplishment to date?

Koheli:Being featured in your esteemed magazine amongst top 25 Female professionals is my greatest professional accomplishment. You really need to travel a long way to be here.

TCM: Have you ever failed in your initiatives? What have you learnt from your failures?

Koheli:Failures are the best teachers in our lives. They do teach us a lot about succeeding. There had been a phase when some things were not going as per plan, but sooner than later we managed those things and we accomplished our target, clearing them in flying colors.

TCM:What are your ideals?

Koheli:My ideals are quite stringent – Perfection and organized approach. Whatever you do, do it with perfection with proper planning and never fall short when it comes to show your humanity.

TCM:What stimulated your ideas to start a new business venture or to bring significant changes in an existing business/at work place?

Koheli:I worked with one of the Top MNC firms for 7 years, also worked with a reputed Developer group. In the first one I learnt processes and Systems, whereas in the second one I learnt accountability, passion to be the best and out of the box thinking.

So when I started my own company I tried to pick up the best I learnt from both, to create the right environment, where my team, my people are more important and adhering to commitment is above all.

TCM:What effective strategies you have implemented/initiatives you have taken to achieve success?

Koheli: Our Strategy to achieve success is repeat business. 70% of our business is repeat business and it's only possible because of our company's discipline & work ethics. I feel repeat business speaks about your Company's credibility. I always have a 5 point Agenda –

  1. Better quality product

  2. Improved Trust

  1. Reduction of Wastes & Defects

  2. Getting More For Less

  3. Increase in User Satisfaction.

TCM:How do you define success? What is your take on the ways to achieve long term success?

Koheli: As per my opinion success is something that thrive you to achieve excellence by giving that adrenaline rush in your body, to be motivated and goal oriented. That happiness to achieve your goal that you have nurtured from inception like bringing up an infant is the feeling unexplained.

This feeling is actually success for me. To achieve that prime success you need to be motivated, properly oriented and should have that never say never attitude in all aspects of your life.

TCM: Please tell us about your future plans –

Koheli: My future plans are to get into bigger development and bigger projects. Since we have a very strong project delivery team, I feel my next big leap shall be getting into developments and delivering it ON TIME AS PROMISED so that common people are not suffering because of false commitments and lack of trust.

TCM: Who has been your greatest inspiration?

Koheli:My greatest source of Inspiration is my Father who has been regressively inculcating these thoughts in me since I was in class 5, that I am born to become an Architect with a construction management degree and must have my own firm to build creative excellence and make a difference in this Industry in terms of timeless designs and respect for commitment.

TCM: Whom do you attribute your success to?

Koheli: All the credit goes to my Team – the Design team for their creativity – young & fresh designs and my very hard working project delivery Team. But above all Mr. JitendraPuri our second Director of this firm, his hard work has no limits.

All my commitments to clients are always fulfilled because he takes the Onus of responsibility to fulfill the commitments I make and moreover, assures that the client becomes an integral part of our firm and entrust us with more challenging opportunities.
