Why Bradford came into existence?
I entered the Indian aviation sector in 2002. My professional voyage initiated from Bangalore and throughout my journey out there, I witnessed the bottlenecks in the aviation training methodologies; there was not a single stop for relevant and quality aviation training in India. I have also spent a lot of time as a Base Manager. I did interview a lot of people and experienced that the relevancy and quality were missing. The Indian air transport sector is among the most vibrant and fastest growing in the world. The sector has opened up the gateway of opportunities for ambitious youngsters in India. Therefore, a tailor-made training module formulated by handpicked aviation passionate personnel arises as a need of the hour. I thought of what we can do to serve the Indian aviation industry. My quest for an arena where a customized and relevant curriculum can be offered with practical knowledge as well landed me on the ground to corporate Bradford. The next step came out to handpick aviation enthusiastic people to infuse their rich dexterity and to bring together a cumulative expertise of 100+ years in the aviation training segment under the umbrella of Bradford.
Were there any initial challenges setting up the training facility?
Well, to create a niche for ourselves in the aviation segment was a major challenge. But our expertise and quality led us ahead of the competition and we successfully establish ourselves in the domain. We are an academy embedded with aviation professionals to create future airport personnel. We did a deep dive research and with the helping hand of several international Aviation councils and bodies, we deployed a customized curriculum matching the industry standards. Today our internship programs are offered at leading aviation corporations and Bangalore Airport.
What do you hope to accomplish in the coming years?
Currently, we are enjoying our presence in Bangalore and Mysore. Our next take off will be in Imphal and then Dubai by the upcoming year. We are in the process of meeting up few investors who are eyeing to invest in the Indian Aviation sector. Our dream project is to start a regional airline to connect tier II and tier III cities. The government itself has invested approx. 17500 Cr. Into these segments to concentrate more on the development and revival of underserved airports and hence, we want to contribute in this with our dream project. We have also lined up to apply for NOC from DGCA soon. Moreover, I want to know what it feels like flying on my own flight!
Starting from a salaried man to set up an organization an entrepreneur…What was your journey like to get where you are?
My journey has been quite astounding. I never wanted to align my career with my family's as I come from a family of teachers.After my graduation from Kerala, I completed by post-graduation from Bangalore. the sky always attracted me. And I took off immediately!!
Your role model and inspiration?
Well, speaking of motivation, I always motivate myself. My organization, my work is my passion and it keeps me motivated to do more and more. Personally, I admire Mr. Hari Marar, President and Executive Director of Bangalore International Airport (BIAL). He is the person I look upon as a role model.
What does Sudhimon like to do most when he is not the entrepreneur?
I love to travel and keep myself surrounded by books and good quotes!!
