China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), a major national oil and gas corporation of China along with being one of the largest integrated energy groups in the World is led by the chairman and Chinese business and oil magnate Wang Yilin. The visionary has been leading the growth of the state-owned enterprise established 31 years ago in 1988 headquartered in Dongcheng District in Beijing, the capital of China.

While Its operations begin in 1993, National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) is the world's largest company by market value according to Financial Times Global 2016, and the world's third-largest company by revenue according to the 2016 Fortune Global 500 list.

Along with serving as the Chairman of the Board of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), Yilin also serves as the Chairman of the Board of PetroChina. Being China's most influential business leader, he has accompanied President Xi of China during many state visits, including to the UK, France, Kazakhstan, Russia, UAE etc.

Born in 1956 with Han nationality and a native of Ganyu County, Jiangsu Province, Yilin graduated from the prestigious China University of Petroleum (East China) and China University of Petroleum, Beijing.

With 35 years of experience in the industry, Wang is currently working as a professor-level senior engineer. He started his career in June 1996, as he served as a member of the standing Party committee, deputy director and chief exploration geologist of Xinjiang Petroleum Administration Bureau. From September 1999, he served as the general manager and Party secretariat of Xinjiang Oilfield Company.

 He became a member of the CNPC in 2003 and in April 2011, he assumed the role of Chairman of the China National Offshore Oil Corporation. Wang was elected member of the 18th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China in November 2012 while he began to serve at the position of Chairman of CNPC in April 2015, and started to hold a concurrent post as Chairman of PetroChina in June 2015. In July 2017, Wang Yiling, the Chairman of CNPC, serves as the head of the Chinese National Delegation to the World Petroleum Congress in Istanbul.

Being a Prominent Representative

Wang was elected Co-Chairman of the Economic Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (PCC 2018) on March 13, while on June 2018, Yilin met in Beijing with Kazakh President Nazarbayev, who visited China. Also, Wang has held talks with Bozumbayev, Kazakhstan's Minister of Energy, and Sault Mynbayev, CEO of KazMunayGas (KMG), respectively.

Wang held talks with the President of Sudan, the President of South Sudan, the President of Chad, and the President of Niger respectively during their state visits to China for the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC 2018).

He has been awarded the medal of friendship by President Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan. President Nazarbayev's presidential decree, which was issued to address Wang Yilin's national honour in June 2018. It pointed out that Wang Yilin has made great contributions to the development of his country's social, economic, and cultural undertakings and the consolidation of friendship and cooperation among the people in Kazakhstan's national and social activities.
