Brendon McCullum was born in 1983 in Dunedin, New Zealand. He made his first-class debut at the age of 18 and quickly established himself as a top player. He is a cricketer from New Zealand who has achieved many milestones in his career.

McCullum quickly became one of the most important players for New Zealand in International cricket. He was known for being a big hitter and regularly scored quick runs batting at the top of the innings.

He also established himself as an excellent fielder and occasional bowler. In total, McCullum has played 402 international matches across all formats of the game ( Tests, ODIs & T20Is). He is currently New Zealand’s highest run scorer in Test cricket with 5200 runs to his name.

In February 2014, McCullum was appointed captain of the New Zealand cricket team following Dan Vettori's retirement from international cricket.

Under McCullum's leadership, New Zealand reached new heights, winning their first ever Test series against India in 2015 and becoming finalists in the 2016 ICC World Twenty20 tournament. McCullum eventually retired from international cricket in February 2016 after playing 119 Tests and 302 ODIs for New Zealand.

McCullum retired from International Cricket after playing his last match against Australia in February 2016. He finished his career with 10184 runs across all three formats, including 31 centuries and 68 fifties.

Brendan McCullum has had an illustrious career in cricket which included becoming captain of the New Zealand national team at just 34 years old. He has shown immense skill both with bat and ball over his 14-year career and will be remembered as one of the greatest cricketers to have played for New Zealand
