The story of the sweet success of 'Weikfield' started in 1956 by Late Shri. Satpal Malhotra along with his two younger brothers, post the partition era. Rendered homeless by partition, in a matter of three days, Late Shri S. P. Malhotra rented a shop and set up a business and later established the 'Weikfield Products Company' which soon turned into a national brand of food products reaching consumers in every small town in India under the umbrella of its vast distribution network.

Today, after six decades,this multi-division company is being managed under the leadership of Mr. Ashwini Malhotra, Managing Director of 'Weikfield Foods Pvt. Ltd'. It proudly manufactures over 30 quality products and meets the tastes of the most discriminating of buyers around the world.

THE MAN WITH THE BATON

Ashwini Malhotra, successfully takes care of Weikfield Foods and is the Director of other Weikfield Group of Companies. He serves as a trustee of the Malhotra Weikfield Foundation & Janaseva Foundation as well. He is a commerce graduate and completed his Masters in Business Management from the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai. He is an active member of the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) at the zonal, state, regional and national level. In the past, he was the Chairman of the Pune & Maharashtra State Councils of CII. He is also at present serving as aDirector of Pune City Connect Development Foundation.

And in this journey of growth, the company has been the recipient of several national and international awards i.e. The International Taste & Quality Institute in Brussels In 2008, the International Food Europe Award In 1980, the Fulham Geissler International Quality Award In 1994 and the International Taste & Quality Institute in Brussels In 2006.

These recognitions have made their way to WeikfieldFoods because of its adherence to stringent quality standards in each product it manufactures. Every manufacturing plant of Weikfield meets the highest industry standards with respect to product safety and quality. Weikfield has a holistic approach that extends from the sourcing of raw and packing materials to the 'Good Manufacturing Practices' employed and to the continuous training of its staff and workers for maintaining inflexible hygiene and quality standards.

THE WIDESPREAD SALES AND DISTRIBUTION NETWORK

Weikfield Foods manufacturing facilities are located at three locations in India – two near Pune & one in Himachal Pradesh. At these plants, Weikfield manufactures a wide range of food products like dessert mixes, food & bakery ingredients, sauces, ketchups, green tea's, mushrooms, pasta & oats, which are sold throughout India, through its extensive sales and distribution network consisting of 800 stockists and over 100,000 retail and institutional outlets covering over 500 towns & cities in India. Its' products are also exported to various international markets of UK, Middle East & Africa.

THE PRODUCTION LANDSCAPE

Weikfield's production facilities are located at three locations in India viz Lonikand and Bakori in the vicinity of Pune and Nalagarh in Himachal Pradesh, all of which are ISO-22000 & HACCP certified units and manufacture a versatile range of processed food products like custard powder, corn flour, baking powder, flavoured jelly crystals, ice cream mix powders, pudding mixes, cake mixes, falooda mix, oats, cocoa, drinking chocolate, mustard powder and pasta's under the "Weikfield" brand.

Weikfield is also one of the few certified organic tea packing units in the country & produces an exotic range of organic and naturallyflavoured green tea bags under the "Eco Valley" brand in innovative packaging. Weikfield's agricultural growing & processing facility at Bakori near Pune is one of the largest producers of white button &portobello mushrooms under the "Eco Valley" brand and it also manufactures a range of sauces, ketchups& condiments under the "Weikfield" brand.

Weikfield presently, and in the times coming ahead,will continue to produce and market trusted food brands, conforming to the highest international standards of quality and convenience for discerning customers in the Indian and global markets, with every Weikfield employee passionately dedicated to achieving the goals of the organization.

GIVING BACK TO SOCIETY

The promoters of the Weikfield group, the Malhotra family, have established a Charitable Foundation namely Malhotra Weikfield Foundation for various philanthropic activities including offering financial scholarships to meritorious science students, especially girls, from disadvantaged backgrounds mainly from rural Maharashtra.

This Foundation provides scholarships for carrying out and completing undergraduate and postgraduate studies in any of the pure sciences viz. physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, statistics, astronomy, and astrophysics. Additionally, scholarships for students of high merit wishing to pursue post-graduate or doctorate studies in the fields of Nano-science, Nano-biotechnology, and Food Technology are also awarded.

A unique distinction of this noble initiative of the Foundation is the pairing of its scholarship grants with a comprehensive mentoring program. Each scholar is provided with a volunteer mentor who guides him/her during their academic education. Mentors also coach their scholars on the challenges they may face with their studies, attendance, family and personal issues to ensure their overall holistic development.
