The Honda City was first launched in India in January 1998. It was the first Honda car to be manufactured in India and was initially available in only one variant.

Over the years, the Honda City has become one of the most popular sedans in the Indian market and has undergone several updates and facelifts to keep up with changing consumer demands.

On the outside, the MY23 Honda City Hybrid retains the design of its standard sibling. It gets a new single-slat chrome grille and a diamond-chequered grille further below, new front and rear bumpers, a rear diffuser with a faux carbon-fibre finish, and new 16-inch alloy wheels.

The car is offered in six colours, including Obsidian Blue Pearl, Radiant Red, Golden Brown, Lunar Silver, Meteoroid Grey, and Platinum White. With its features and sleek and classy look, the car is sure to get many heads turned wherever it goes.

Interior and Features

Inside, the cabin gets a dual-tone Ivory and Black theme for the leatherette upholstery.

Besides this, the City is equipped with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) features like lane keep assist, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, high beam assist, and collision mitigation braking.

The passive safety features include six airbags, a lane watch camera, a hill start assist, and a tire pressure monitoring system.

In terms of telematics, the Honda Connect is now compatible with Alexa and Google and offers functions like remote engine start, door lock/unlock, AC on/off, wireless charging, and ambient lighting.

Engine and Specifications

The Honda City Hybrid features a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an Atkinson cycle, which is coupled with a hybrid powertrain. The hybrid powertrain consists of a traction motor, which generates 107bhp, and a generation motor, which gives a boost of 94bhp.

All combined, the City hybrid has an output of 125bhp and 253Nm of peak torque. The motors are linked to the eCVT single-speed transmission. With the City Hybrid, Honda claims a fuel efficiency of 26.5kmpl. This engine now complies with the RDE and BS6 Phase 2 emission norms.

City Hybrid price for the model in hybrid (electric + petrol) is Rs. 18.92 Lakh. Whereas the price of the City Hybrid automatic version starts from Rs. 18.92 Lakh.
