The Sevagram Ashram, located in Wardha, Pune, is the ashram where Gandhi started his experimental laboratory from 1934 to 1940.

The Aga Khan Palace in Maharashtra where Mahatma Gandhi, his wife Kasturba Gandhi and secretary Mahadev Desai were imprisoned during the Quit India Movement.

Last but not least, Gandhi Smriti in Delhi, where Nathuram Godse assassinated Gandhiji, today the place has been conserved as Gandhi Smriti.

Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated enthusiastically across India, from schools, colleges and universities to government and private sectors. The celebration begins with Raghupati Raghav, one of Gandhi's popular songs, followed by various cultural activities, patriotic songs, and dances.

To pay tribute, a memorial service is held where people remember the Mahatma's teachings and principles of truthfulness, non-violence and simplicity and make speeches. In addition, all Indian political leaders pay homage by visiting Rajghat, New Delhi, where the samadhi of Mahatma Gandhi is located.
