Ameera Shah was born into a family deeply rooted in the medical field. Her father, Dr. Sushil Shah, is a renowned pathologist, and her mother, Dr. Duru Shah, is a distinguished gynaecologist.

Growing up in Mumbai, Ameera was surrounded by a family of doctors, with her elder sister, Aparna Shah, being a geneticist.

Ameera's educational journey began with her studies in commerce at H.R. College of Commerce and Economics. She later pursued a degree in finance from the University of Texas at Austin.

Her quest for knowledge led her to work with Goldman Sachs in New York and complete the Owner-President Management Program at Harvard Business School.

Ameera Shah's most significant career move was taking the reins of her father's pathology business, Metropolis Lab, in 2001.

Under her dynamic leadership, the business evolved from a single diagnostic lab with $1.5 million in revenue and 40 employees into Metropolis Healthcare, a multinational chain comprising 125 diagnostic labs, generating $90 million in revenue and employing 4,500 individuals.

Her astute business acumen led to the successful listing of the company in April 2019, marking a significant milestone in the healthcare industry.
