Parul University held its 3rd Annual Convocation Ceremony on November 29, 2019. Padma Shri.Anil Kumble, Former Indian Cricketer, Captain and Coach of the Indian Cricket Team attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest while Miss. Manushi Chhillar, Former Miss World remained present along with Dr.Devanshu Patel, President, Parul University, Dr.M.N.Patel, Provost, Parul University, Dr.H.S.Vijayakumar, Registrar, Parul University, Hon'ble Members of the Board of Management and the Governing Body.  A total of 4,500 students along with their parents were present to witness the conferment of the degrees on their wards.

3rd Annual Convocation of Parul University

During the 3rd Convocation, a total of 3,519 graduating candidates from the disciplines of engineering and technology, applied science, commerce, fine arts, library science, health administration, public health, vocational studies, pharmacy, physiotherapy, ayurved, computer applications, management, business administration were conferred diploma, under graduate and post graduate degrees. A total of 40 gold medals along with 19 Certificates of Merit were awarded to the top performers of respective degree programmes in the university. A Ph.D degree in the discipline of ayurved was conferred upon Dr. Jyoti Kumbar. University, in recognition of contribution made by Padma Shri.Anil Kumble in the field of Cricket and by Miss Manushi Chhillar in the field of women empowerment and her efforts in making " Anemia Free Haryana" Campaign successful, Doctor of Literature (D.Litt.) degree was conferred on both of them.

Nirmal Mangroliya, a Gold Medal Awardee in M.Plan degree programme, spoke about his 7 seven years spent during B.Arch and M.Plan degree programme adding that the skills and knowledge gained by him at Parul University not only helped him become a better architect but also provided him adequate exposure and life skills required in leading a successful life. He is currently employed as an Assistant Professor in Parul Institute of Architecture and Research, a constituent institute of Parul University and also working on residential projects in Surat.

Preksha Chajjar, a top performer in Public Health programme in the university, said" I was looking forward to this day with great anticipation and excitement. Two years i have spent at Parul University are the most memorable years of my life. Practical exposure i gained during public health programme here will definitely work wonders in my professional career."

Dr.Devanshu Patel, during his presidential remarks, told students that the knowledge gained by them in the classrooms and also by performing practicals in the laboratories, projects on which they worked along with their classmates and the thesis and the dissertation which the students worked on were merely tools in acquiring and enhancing their knowledge. The process of education has not ended by acquisition of the degree. Now, they will have to be ready to face challenges in their day-to-day life and the knowledge gained will enable them to brave the storms. He said that there is nothing wrong in dreaming big but overnight success is a myth. One has to toil day and night to achieve success and even work harder to sustain it. He appealed to the youth to channelize their energy and potential in solving the problems faced by the society and the nation at large.

Manushi Chhilar in her address urged the students to be happy, no matter whatever the circumstances may be and devote themselves entirely to better the conditions and surroundings in which they find themselves. She also said that India, being the only country with the highest population of youth, has the advantage of contributing to the nation's development and progress.  She also shared an advice her parents gave her that no matter what you do in life, do it with utmost sincerity and never lose touch with one's roots and be humble.

Padma Shri.Anil Kumble in his convocation address urged the students not to lose sight of their goals. He said that when he started out, everyone told him that he cannot play for India for long. He proved them wrong by perfecting his art with dedication and practice. He said, " self-belief is the key to success. If you believe in yourself, you can sail easily through adverse circumstances, shattering failures and harsh criticisms." He also said that he is known as a bowler who has taken 690 wickets but nobody knows it took him 40,000 deliveries to achieve this feat.

Dr.M.N.Patel, Provost, Parul University thanked all the students, parents and staff members for making this event a huge success and also congratulated the graduating candidates and wished them luck in their future endeavours.
