Brian S. Tyler is the chief executive officer of McKesson Corporation with his more than two decades of experience with McKesson as he served in a wide variety of leadership roles throughout the company leading various major businesses within the company as well as McKesson’s corporate strategy and business development unit. Recently Tyler has served as Chairman of the Management Board of McKesson Europe, where he drove growth to $27.3 billion by focusing on operational excellence, collaboration and innovation.

Tyler completed his B.A. in Economics with high honours from the University of California, Santa Cruz. He earned his PhD and master’s degree from the University of Chicago, Department of Economics where he studied under a grant from the National Science Foundation. His specializations include Industrial Organization, Labour Economics, and Public Finance/Project Evaluation. Tyler spent three years at Integral, Inc. as a senior associate, Health Care Consulting in Cambridge before joining the brand McKesson.

Before leading McKesson Europe, he had overall leadership responsibility for McKesson’s pharmaceutical distribution and related businesses in North America. Tyler is a member of the board of directors of the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Wholesalers (IFPW), a member of the IFPW Foundation board of directors, and a member of the American Cancer Society’s CEOs against Cancer group in the North Texas chapter.
