It is always a treat to have someone on board who carries seasoned knowledge and balances his heart’s calling with his quick thinking to execute a vision of delivering future results – and Sanjeev Verma perfectly fits in this picture. The Executive Director and CEO of AGC Networks’ is a home to an extensive global experience of more than 2 decades in the ICT domain. Nestling a highly successful track record in diverse set of management and leadership roles in the areas of business operations, sales & marketing, consulting, M&A and startup operations globally, Sanjeev is a visionary possessing a deep understanding of diverse geographies aptly reflective in his Glocal strategy of ‘Think Global Act Local’. During his interview with The CEO Magazine, Sanjeev speaks over a host of issues in line with AGC Networks journey so far and gives us an insight into the future plans of the organization.

With a vision of being a world-class solution integrator of choice, AGC Networks has always remained committed to providing clients with the best return on their technology investments through evolving technology solutions. Take us to the early days of AGC’s inception.

With a history of over three decades, AGC’s journey from a manufacturer to being a Global Solution Integrator of choice has been truly transformational.  Incepted in 1986 as Tata Telecom in India to being known as Avaya Global Connect Limited and in 2010 with Essar stepping in and being re-christened AGC Networks Limited – AGC’s evolutionary journey has been dominated by its expertise and leadership position garnered in the Unified Communications space. AGC Networks today prides in a network of global offices across Australia, New Zealand, Middle East & Africa, Philippines, UK and North America with presence in Dallas, Florida and Philadelphia in the US and serving a global base of over 3000 customers across verticals.

In the last 4-5 years there has been a tremendous shift in technology asks and AGC prides itself in its preparedness in the evolving digital requirements across video, networking and security to help customers stay ahead of the curve. We work for technology that enables better experience. We believe in partnering in the customer’s digital journey by executing their digital transformation strategy through trained skill sets.

From being an Infrastructure provider earlier to today enabling better connects, we help customers reach the brand and Self-service themselves through Speech Analytics, Visual IVR, Chats and less human intervention.

How will you perceive AGC’s business voyage in the global marketplace?

The market is moving to Digital solutions and Software Defined Networks (SDN) and we are geared to help customers stay ahead of the curve through our close working relationship with leading technology providers. AGC believes in not just creating a digital solution but also securing and protecting it. We stand among one of the few players who cater to both, the infrastructure as well as the applications domain and delivering the same through a globally aligned skill pool.  With a clear focus on these areas, AGC is in a unique space with customization and solution architecting showcased in a simulated environment in AGC’s Customer Experience Centers (CEC) giving a ‘before purchase’ experience to our customers.

AGC’s business strategy globally revolves around the ‘triangle of equity’ i.e. value creation for customers, employees, and various stake-holders delivering value to this public listed company (on the Indian bourse). This is enabled by our commitment to continue being Relevant, Nurturing Relationships and Delivering outcome led Results. Our role as an innovative and seamless support provider has enabled us to be the customer’s preferred partner of choice.

What are organization’s areas of expertise in line with the services offered?

One of our core competencies is delivering a spectrum of services through the Global Network Operations Center – delivering Remote maintenance and Professional services and the Global-Security Operations Center (G-SoC) – a 24*7 monitoring and surveillance center that helps in immediate threat identification through relevant qualifications and immense industry experience of our security experts. Being an ISO 9001, SOC2 Type I and ISO 27001 certified organization; we harness the ability to secure clients from digital maladies.  AGC marks its expertise in various aspects encompassing governance, risk compliance, and security solutions with guaranteed Return on Security Investments (ROSI).

What is your biggest dream?

It is my endeavour to build AGC to be the customer’s preferred partner of choice and have top of the mind recall across enterprise and mid-market companies in multiple theatres that we operate in.

A piece of advice for the young aspirants

Anticipate the market and align solutions accordingly.  And this can be achieved through effective market research.  A GTM plan should always be based on the research of the respective geography. Organizations should aspire to align to global standards yet be local in nature and business in the respective markets. Customer centricity and an evolved outside-in thinking and approach will always ensure success – personally and professionally!

In 7+ years of his career at AGC Networks, Sanjeev has contributed significantly to the stability of AGC’s international operations which has created a framework for AGC’s profitable India business and globally.  Sanjeev has successfully delivered on the key drivers of AGC’s international footprint namely organic growth and inorganic acquisitions.  In his previous role as President, AGC Networks, he has been a significant asset to the company’s roadmap in India and its expansion onto foreign shores.

While refining its prowess by leveraging the capabilities of new age technologies such as SDN, Data Center & Edge IT, Cyber Security and Digital Transformation which includes Speech Analytics, Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Omni-channel across verticals, the organization is eyeing to continue building the momentum created towards sustained profitability.

AGC is also creating an evolved skills pool to monitor, protect and deliver the customer’s technology landscape through a Professional Services framework for customers in their respective markets.
