Ecommerce Startup Shoppingkart24.com eyes to cater Make-in-India products Globally

Vivek Agnihotri’ssocio-political film Buddha in a Traffick Jam screened a B-School graduate’s entrepreneurial journey to save the vanishing culture of tribal artisans. Shoppingkart24 -that too worried about the same- is no cinema. It’s a real story, based on almost same plot, scripted by two young entrepreneurs.

The folk culture focused startup and ecommerce market place shoppingkart24.com has become a well-known entity. When several Ministries have kicked off several initiatives to create a better ecosystem for the startups in India, Prateek B Singh and Jyotsna Rai, the co-founders of Shoppingkart24 came up with an idea of an ecommerce marketplace to showcase unique and versatile products of small scale vendors. The creative instinct of the two was encouraging them to offer a global platform to the local manufacturers, vendors, artisans and craftsmen, which would be very productive and unique.

By the end of 2015, Singh and Rai incepted the firm ShoppingKart24 Online Service Pvt. Ltd. in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh that runs the ecommerce portal Shoppingkart24.com. Backed by its ten employees and a branch in Bengaluru, Shoppingkart24.com is pioneering the online-to-offline model, which enables local products to take their extensive showroom network online, thus significantly increasing their visibility and customer reach. With this model, customers can now begin their favourite products purchasing journey online – exploring an extensive design catalog, customizing their design with free consultations, and then buy online or experience their design offline at these brand showrooms and buy from there.

The ecommerce portal’s USP lies in their product offerings, and therefore its future plan is to grow in the Indian market by promoting the art of India and their exclusive products and designs across boundaries.

This local products aggregator is a revolutionary platform working on the concept of ‘Make in India’ where an unnoticed brand gets a platform to showcase their products.

Recently the firm has been recognized by DIPP as startup under PM Modi’s Startup India drive. The firm aims at delivering the best with easy-to-shop facility considering the needs of customers with a quick response. The portal has added intuitive features to their web portal and mobile application to offer enhanced user experience. To cater the needs of global consumers, a Mobile Application with a special user-friendly Voice Search Feature is launched.

The portal has moved up the THE VAULT’ listing of 50 STARTUP IDEAS. The portal’s name appeared in the listing of prestigious names like G-STARTUP WORLDWIDE and Retail Startup Awards 2017 by Future Group. Shoppingkart24’s future plans include strategies that are tailor made to suit the need of the global consumers. The portal aspires to expand its horizons in other parts of the world. With this they will definitely distribute the unknown yet unique Indian products across the globe. 

“In this growing era of digitization, most of the established e-commerce players are extending their reach to Tier-II & Tier-III cities to empower rural and urban India. But still, there are so many vendors, retailers and shopkeepers who are not aware of online businesses even though they produce unique and quality products. As a result, the Indian originated brands are losing their share of demand in the market and missing on its fame beyond a certain boundary. Prateek B Singh is a Commerce Graduate with a sharp mind and ability to rise in spite of all the competition prevailing in the market. He also co-founded some other startups. His business partner Jyotsna Rai is a detail-oriented team member with more than 8 years of experience in various industry sectors like – E-commerce, Consulting Operations, Brand Licensing, etc. She has an exceptional record of client service and revenue generation.

Singh and Rai are quite confident about the trajectory their venture Shoppingkart24will take in the future. Under their vision,Shoppingkart24 is now rentlessly working to improve user experience and get more vendors in their network by end of this year. Shoppingkart24 wants to showcase the larger product selection to the customers from vendors of rural/urban areas by implementing new features on the website to and hence offering the best customer experience to both our sellers & customers.

“We foresee ten times growths in customers within a span of next 6 months & increase per customer spend by 2.5 to 3 times. The future plan is to stabilize in the Indian market and create the platform in other countries and promote their products and designs to create a cross boundaries trade,” Prateek B Singh asserted.

Buddha in a Traffick Jam is something more just than a movie. Shoppingkart24 is too not only a shopper’s stop. This is a convergence platform where ideas, emotions and local arts are attached so closely. What began as a ecommerce platform by Singh and Rai, will ultimately be turned into a virtual showcase of Indian culture and crafts.
