Vedica Opens the Final Round of Admissions for the Class of 2017-18

Business Wire India
The Vedica Way

Vedica is committed to grooming benchmark women professionals who are trained in management expertise and critical thinking. Courses in the liberal arts, communication & critical thinking, and personal leadership enhance the conventional management curriculum, which has increasingly been found inadequate in scope as well as pedagogy.

Given the outstanding transformational experiences of the Scholars, a decidedly positive industry response and recruitments by stellar companies, we have seen a surge of applications this year. To make sure that the Vedica opportunity is available to many more deserving young women, we have doubled our cohort for 2017–18. With a batch size of 70 already, the final round of admissions is now open.

The academic curriculum at Vedica has been developed in response to skills companies look for in high-potential talent. Vedica offers placement support and assures careers of distinction to every Scholar, based on her interests and skill-set. The Founding Class of 2016 graduated with excellent placement offers from recruiters such as Google, Nestle, RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, Airtel, IFMR Capital, Max Healthcare, Paytm, Indus League, Tata Trusts and Mapro Foods. Benchmark salaries averaged at INR 7.4 lakhs per annum (for fresh graduates) and INR 11 lakhs per annum for those with prior work experience. Many saw increases of over 150% from their previous compensation. The highest salary of this batch was INR 22 lakhs per annum.

The unique 'Shadow a Woman CEO' module is a redesigned summer internship with a focus on providing accessibility to mentor networks. It exposes each Vedica Scholar to a successful, senior professional woman, across industries and geographies who offer to share their life and mentor a budding professional for a whole month. Prolific women professionals like Gunjan Soni (Myntra), Samina Vaziralli (Cipla), Abanti Sankaranayanan (Diageo India), Upasana Taku (Mobikwik), Seema Bansal (Boston Consulting Group), Sathya Sriram (The Hindu), Fazila Allana (SOL Production), Preeta Sukhantar (The Label Life), Pallavi Singh (Harley-Davidson India) and Anushree Tainwala (Samsonite), have mentored our Scholars.

All achievement-oriented women with a graduate degree and a desire to excel professionally are eligible to apply for the Vedica Scholars Programme for Women. All admitted women receive a Vedica Bursary of INR 3.5 lakhs. In addition, partial and full scholarships are available based on need, merit and our commitment to building an inclusive class.
