Jankidevi Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JDBIMS), of SNDT Women’s University (SNDT WU), Mumbai was established in 1997with the aspiration to develop young women to be leaders of tomorrow.
Named after Smt. Jankidevi Bajaj, a distinguished leader, who dedicated her life for the awakening and emancipation of women, JDBIMS was a bold step of the SNDT WU towards empowering women in India through management education. An absolute blend of traditional Indian culture and value systems with modern management theories and practices is the bedrock of the JDBIMS, an institution which aims to create new standards and benchmarks in management education by inculcating strong academic, corporate, entrepreneurial and societal leadership qualities in women.
In line with its vision, the JDBIMS collaborates with industries, particularly in the field of curriculum development, teaching, research and evaluation. Faculty training and management development help the students learn from the best in the business, and hone their skills. Besides the focus on research, the professional courses offered by JDBIMS completely align with the needs of rapidly changing business environment. The programmes are specifically designed to enhance employment opportunities for women with summer and winter Internships, and a Year Long Project.
The beautiful Juhu campus, where JDBIMS is located, has ample facilities; play grounds, Basket Ball Court, Gymn, etc. It is a composite campus with all facilities on one campus with the Juhu beach a mere 250 mts away (Refer the Google map).
There are various committees namely, Local Management Committee, Anti-ragging Committee, Departmental Quality Assurance Cell (DQAC), Departmental Research Committee, and Departmental Ethics Committee to guide the operations of JDBIMS and to ensure the highest quality of education provided by the institute.
Dr. T. J. Mathew, an educational leader with more than three decades of experience in Academics, Systems Development and Management, is the Director. JDBIMS has a good blend of core and visiting faculty; wherein visiting faculty are veterans from the industry to give their experience and expertise.
One of the prime objectives of JDBIMS is to inculcate a winner’s attitude and cultivate good personal and professional practices in its students so that the time they spent learning in JDBIMS should be an enabler for them. To assure that, the institute has a Mentorship Programme in which every student is assigned a personal mentor, an accomplished senior Industry professional, to help her grow as a corporate professional.
JDBIMS offers an array of Management Programmes that are designed with expertise and are suitable to fulfill the diverse career needs of students. There are Doctoral programmes, full time, part time as well as short term management programmes. The institute runs two year full time programmes viz., MMS (Master of Management Studies) and MBA (Master of Business Administration), which help students shape their career and climb the ladder of success. MMS has specializations in Finance, Human Resource, Marketing, Operations and Systems. For admission in this course, aspiring students needs to follow the procedures prescribed by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) of Maharashtra.
Master of Business Administration(MBA)is also two year programme offered in Finance Management, Human Resource Management, Marketing Management, Operations Management, Retail Management, and Systems Management. For admission in MBA, a student has to qualify a written test which is followed by group discussion and personal interview. For those who wish to pursue a management course to hone their skills as well as to enrich their resume, the institute offers two year part time MBA Executive programme and several one year part time Post Graduate Diploma in various aspects of management.

Majority of students who graduated have exhibited strong leadership and managerial skills and have reached top positions in management in reputed organizations. It is noteworthy that one of the three students selected by Amazon in its all India recruitment process in 2015-16 was from JDBIMS, and several others have been recruited by many MNCs and others.
For several years, students of JDBIMS have been selected for the prestigious ‘Jane M. Clausman Women in Business Scholarship’ sponsored by Zonta International Foundation. Parimal Hiwrale, of JDBIMS has received this scholarship in 2017 – a whopping 1000 USD.
