We are extremely glad and thankful to Sir JJ Group of Hospitals for providing us with this opportunity of installing Water ATMs inside the campus to ensure supply of safe, healthy and affordable drinking water to the students of the hostel. Across the country, we have installed many such water purifications system plants under our Jal Daan initiative in partnership with NGOs and social service organizations. In the near future also, we aim to solve the water problems across the country by installing such water shops with the help of like-minded organizations who have been championing for the cause of good health and healthy living”.
Mr. L.P. Lahani, Dean of JJ Hospital contributed by saying, “Currently, the water purifiers set up in hostels for students are not functioning well due to lack of maintenance. Most of these students do not have access to safe and clean drinking water. Taking this need into consideration, we decided to set up 4 water plants particularly designed to meet the basic requirements of a large number of students in-house. We believe that safe drinking water is the right of every citizen and this initiative is an attempt to safeguard interests and health of our students.”
On this occasion, Dr. Mukesh Batra – President, Rotary Club of Bombay added, “Being a part of India’s oldest and largest club, one of our key focus area has been to provide clean drinking water to the communities. Through this initiative we are happy to contribute to the changing future of medicine. I am hopeful that this effort will reduce the risk of students falling ill, in turn treating more patients. As a part of our prior initiatives, we have already installed a number of water plants in areas like Malvan and seen immense success on this front.”
