Ascend Performance Materials, the largest fully integrated producer of PA66 resin, will exhibit a full range of automotive applications at Chinaplas 2017.
On display at booth 11.2B41 at the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou, China will be PA66 automotive parts for cooling systems, oil management, powertrain, tire cord and electrical components.
“Drivers are expecting more from their cars than ever before. They expect more technology, better performance, higher fuel efficiency and greater comfort,” said Philip Jeszke, global segment leader for the automotive industry at Ascend Performance Materials. “OEMs and part manufacturers trust that Ascend’s world-class, integrated operations provide them with the quality and supply assurance they need to remain competitive in the marketplace.”
Ascend’s portfolio of PA66 resins and engineered compounds offer OEMs light-weighting solutions with enhanced thermal and hydrolysis resistance. The Vydyne® H series features glass-filled, heat-stabilized grades that are resistant to under-the-hood thermal and chemical exposure, making them ideal for a number of automotive applications, including oil management, canisters, air intake manifolds and cylinder head covers. This year, Ascend will be showcasing PA66 innovations for automotive, including:
- Vydyne HRseries delivers best-in-class thermal and hydro-aging performance for demanding automotive cooling system applications.
- For fuel-efficient turbocharged engines, Ascend’s Vydyne HT series provides high levels of resistance to property degradation after long-term heat exposure.
The company’s Vydyne J series features glass-filled, electrically neutral grades that are halogen-free and heat-stabilized to withstand continuous-use temperatures in excess of 155 C. The J Series grades of Vydyne feature improved dielectric resistance ideal for hybrid and electric vehicle use. This year, Ascend will profile the following materials from its J Series:
- Vydyne grades R515J, R530J and R535J are a selection of electrically neutral, heat-stabilized and glass-filled grades that offer enhanced flow for the molding of thin wall parts and improved productivity.
“We’re already seeing the benefits of PA66 as a versatile alternative to metal to improve fuel efficiency by reducing the overall weight of the car – all without any sacrifice to performance or driver comfort,” said David Liu, Ascend’s automotive technology manager for Asia. “Our commitment to the global PA66 chain allows us to partner with our customers long-term to pioneer new plastic solutions to address challenges in the automotive industry.”
Ascend also will have technical experts on hand who will give a presentation about the unique role Vydyne PA66 has played over the years to help the automotive industry innovate and thrive. The presentation, titled “Vydyne PA66 Solutions for Automotive Trends in China”, will be delivered at booth 11.2B41 as follows:
- Chinese: Tuesday, May 16, at 14:00 and Thursday, May 18, at 10:00
- English: Thursday, May 18, at 11:00.
