Mumbai, India, November 08, 2016 – To survive in the present business environment, adoption of sustainability and sustainable practices is an imperative for all enterprises across industries. Companies need to build strategies that will minimize pecuniary or environmental impact for future generations; the greater the attempt to sustain consumption of limited resources and maintain their availability for the future, the better will be the drive toward a new sustainability paradigm. The Sustainability 4.0 Awards 2017 are organized by Frost & Sullivan and The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), significant contributors in sustainable interventions. Their global approach toward sustainable development through knowledge, cutting-edge research, technology perspectives and innovative solutions has transformed people's lives and the environment. Through this initiative, Frost & Sullivan and TERI aspire to have more companies in the country move toward a structured sustainability program. The assessment based award program will assess organizations on all elements of sustainability like economic, social, environment, human resources, operations, supply chains etc. and provide insights on opportunities for improvements. On 26th May, 2017 Frost & Sullivan and TERI will organize the eighth edition of Sustainability 4.0 Awards to acknowledge and recognize companies and their efforts toward building innovative, sustainable solutions and revamping the existing best practices. Announcing the launch of this edition of the awards banquet, Mr. Nitin Kalothia, Director, Sustainability Initiatives Practice, Frost & Sullivan said, "Enterprises today are dealing with a complex and unconventional trend of environmental, social, and governance risks. These require a sophisticated and robust sustainability-based management model. There is a paradigm shift in the perception of CXOs that in the past were reluctant to place sustainability at the core of their business strategy, but now have identified that pursuing sustainability has substantial financial benefits. In fact, a growing number of companies adopting sustainability practices has evidenced positive impact both on the top- and bottom-line performance and also leveraged onto added business opportunities". Commenting on the partnership with Frost & Sullivan for the Sustainability 4.0 Awards, Mr. Girish Sethi, Senior Director – Industrial Energy Efficiency at TERI said, "The Awards aim to inspire individual organizations to learn from the experiences of other organizations to enable replication of such initiatives on a larger scale. The practices would bring out the innovative strategies used by corporations to address sustainability challenges and how they have helped the companies financially while reaffirming the fact that it pays to be aligned with the principles of sustainable development."

Sustainability 4.0 Awards are designed to accelerate adoption of sustainable development practices through a benchmarking and recognition process. The Award process involves a rigorous assessment of systems and practices by the team of experts and professionals from Frost & Sullivan, TERI and industry experts. Based on the assessment, the participating companies will be given a scorecard highlighting strengths and opportunities for improvements. Besides the assessment report, the participating organizations would also be provided with peer comparison along with the roadmap for improvement. Companies leading the sustainability journey will be recognized at a national awards banquet.
