Journey of VITEOS

With his decades of experience in business and marketing, Mr. Shankar Iyer wanted to make his mark with a new startup to serve global financial services firms. To fulfill the dream, Mr. Iyer founded VITEOS Capital Markets with headquarters in New York and New Jersey in 2003. Today, the company has branch offices in London, Cayman Islands and Singapore and services 52 clients who manage about 800 funds.

Since the financial world is global, the branch offices enable Viteos to deliver timely services to their clients in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific. The company employs more than four hundred employees, who provide service 24 hours a day, five days a week to clients in all markets.

VITEOS offers asset managers customized, straight-through processing and integrated post-trade operations across virtually every asset class, currency, border, and structure. The deep operational and accounting expertise of the team is backed by state-of-the-art technology that enables a high degree of control and automation in a global delivery model. Unlike one-size-fits-all solutions, Viteos tailors its services and solutions to each manager’s specific requirements, supporting the fund’s unique strategy and portfolio and helping to ensure their success. Exceptional outsourced reconciliation services backed by proprietary technology that integrates seamlessly with existing front and back office solutions form the backbone of the Viteos solution.

Key Executive

Mr. Shankar Iyer, Founder and CEO

A consummate entrepreneur, Mr. Shankar Iyer wanted Viteos to be a business that would transcend borders and combine the unique blends of entrepreneurship, creativity, technology and business acumen found in America, India and Asia. To this end, Shankar created a company with an innovative tech-savvy and idea driven culture that supported his employees and his clients.

Before founding VITEOS, Shankar was the president and CEO of Silverline Technologies, a $120 Million company he had successfully guided from startup to public offering. Shankar managed the acquisition and delivery of services for Fortune 500 clients. His efforts made Silverline the first Indian IT services company to be listed on the NYSE.

Even as a child, Shankar was passionate about mathematics and education, and this passion for learning, education and personal growth continues to fuel and drive the success of VITEOS. He shares this passion with his entire suite of C-level executives and business heads, most of whom have been with the company for more than 10 years. His world-class team consists of Chitra Baskar as COO, K.B. Venkataramanan as Chief Information Officer, Venkataraghavan S as Head of Fund Services, Roshi Dandona as Head of Middle Office and Human Resources and Sanath Ramakrishna as Chief Financial Officer.

As testament to its innovation, VITEOS has won many prestigious prizes over the years. In 2015 alone, Viteos was awarded the HFM European Hedge Fund Services Awards, Hedge Fund Award for Best Bespoke Solutions in Hedge Funds, Global Fund Awards, Global Shadow Accounting Firm of the Year and the CTA US Services Awards Best Shadow Accounting award.
